DJ LeMahieu hit a two-run homer off Yoshihisa Hirano in the ninth inning, and the NL West-leading Colorado Rockies rallied to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Wednesday night.

LeMahieu hit a fastball over the fence in right as the Rockies kept their 1.5-game advantage over Los Angeles intact after the Dodgers beat Cincinnati earlier in the day. The Diamondbacks fell 3.5 games behind in the division race. This is the latest in the season the Rockies have been alone in first place since 1995.

Trying for a save on consecutive nights, Hirano (4-3) allowed a hard-hit single by Gerardo Parra off the glove of first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to begin the ninth. Charlie Blackmon bunted Parra over to second and LeMahieu followed with his first career walk-off homer. He was doused with water after crossing home plate as fans chanted “DJ, DJ, DJ!”

Wade Davis (3-6) picked up the win by pitching a perfect ninth, including two strikeouts.

Nolan Arenado had a big night for the Rockies with two doubles and a solo homer.

LeMahieu’s blast spoiled a solid outing by Diamondbacks starter Patrick Corbin, who allowed a season-high 10 hits, but navigated his way through trouble. He went 6 1/3 innings and allowed three runs.

The left-hander’s most crucial pitch was a slider to strike out LeMahieu with the bases loaded in the fourth.

Arizona’s bullpen bent a little in the eighth, issuing two walks, only to have reliever Archie Bradley enter with two outs and get pinch-hitter Carlos Gonzalez to roll out.

Eduardo Escobar’s homer in the third inning was his 21st of the season and sixth with the Diamondbacks since being acquired from the Minnesota Twins on July 27.

Goldschmidt finished 2-for-4 with a double and extended his streak of reaching base to 48 straight road games. Alex Avila added a solo homer.

Since 2015, the Diamondbacks are now 17-6 against Colorado during games played in September or later — including their win in the NL wild-card contest last October.

Rockies starter Jon Gray labored on a night he didn’t have his best stuff. He was knocked out after four innings, allowing four runs.

Asked if he watches scoreboards, manager Bud Black quipped: “It’s hard not to. We have a beautiful scoreboard out there.”

Playing right field, Gonzalez has a close-up view of the scoreboard over his shoulder.

“When we’re not winning, I go like this,” he said, turning his heard as if he was looking at the scoreboard. “Just to make sure the other team is not doing better.”

Arenado and Trevor Story are both starting to get some mention in the NL MVP race. Gonzalez’s vote would be simple – both.

“Either way it goes, I will feel extremely happy,” he said of the possibility of a teammate winning the award.

Arizona RHP Clay Buchholz (7-2, 2.01 ERA) makes his first career start at Coors Field in the finale of a four-game series with Colorado on Thursday. The Rockies will throw Freeland (14-7, 2.91), who is 8-2 at home this season. The game will be an MLB Facebook Watch broadcast.

Free^MLB~Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants Live Streaming Baseball Online 13 September

Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants Live Streaming Online, MLB 2018 Regular Seasons Week 22. Braves vs Giants match will be kickoff at AT&T Park, Australia, Wednesday 13 September 2018 online, 12:45 PM PDT and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

If you’re looking for a reason to go to AT&T Park for a game in this series, then know that tonight is “Game of Thrones” Night. StubHub has tickets starting at $6 for every game of this series, including tonight, and so getting out to the yard before the season ends (and your favorite players retire or get traded away?) is a great deal to consider.

The Giants last played the Braves back in Atlanta at the beginning of May. Both teams were making it known that they were “a thing” — the Braves won 19 of their first 30 games and had a 1.5 game lead in the NL East; the Giants were a plucky 16-15 after going 64-98 the year before — but on paper, it looked like an obvious mismatch, heavily titled in the Braves’ favor. Kenny wrote in his preview:

One of the major reasons the Braves are on the rise is that their pitching-centric rebuild has netted them two of the most exciting hitting prospects in the majors. That’s not how that’s supposed to work, but these are the Braves. The governing principles of the universe don’t apply to them.

The Giants went ahead and swept the three-game series to begin a 10-game, three-city road trip. They raised their record to 19-15 and just looked really good against the Braves’ pitching and held their young, high octane offense mostly in check.

But, oh, how their fortunes have changed! The Giants are 49-61 since that impressive sweep (the Braves are 60-50), out of the playoff race, and rethinking their entire existence. The Braves, on the other hand, have all but locked up the NL East (4.5 games up on Philadelphia) and are coming off a series win against the Diamomdbacks in Arizona that saw them win the first and last games in extra innings.

They’re doing it mostly with their pitching. Their 92 Team ERA- is 4th-best in the National League (Giants: 99; 100 is league average), led by Mike Foltynewicz and 34-year old Anibal Sanchez. But they’ve also received a strong performance from Kevin Gausman, whom they acquired from the Orioles at the trade deadline.

The Giants held him in check back in May (2 singles, a strikeout, and a double play in 12 plate appearances), but they were pretty much the only team to do that this season. He has a 1.200 OPS in September (43 plate appearances) and the Braves’ offense is averaging 5 runs a game.

Nobody thought the Braves needed to tank and rebuild except the team accountants. They timed it with an historic fleecing of Cobb County taxpayers, too, getting a new (and some would say equally unnecessary) stadium to go with their “rebuilding” roster. It worked out perfectly. The Braves were able to dump salary and keep some interesting players (Freddie Freeman and Julio Teheran) and now they’re set up to contend for years to come.

Ronald Acuña Jr., for the obvious reason: he’s 20 years old and making baseball look easy. It shouldn’t look this easy, dammit, but he’s doing it. If we just pressed pause on his season and had it hold as his final line, his 150 wRC+ would be the highest total on the Giants since 2012, when Buster Posey posted a 164 and Melky Cabrera a 151.

A.J. Minter was elevated to the closer role after Arodys Vizcaino was placed on the 60-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation. In the small sample size of his last six games, he’s allowed six earned runs and lost two games. Vizcaino is eligible to be activated for Wednesday’s finale, but in the meantime, Minter has been shaky, so a 1-2-3 ninth isn’t guaranteed, even if this is the Giants we’re talking about.

The San Francisco Giants (68-77) face the Atlanta Braves (80-64) on Tuesday at 7:15 PM PDT. This is game 2 of a 3-game series. The Braves won their last game against the Giants 4-1. The Braves had 7 hits, 3 walks, 0 home runs, and had 12 left on base. Giants had 3 hits, 0 walks, 0 home runs, and had 4 left on base.

Left-hander, Andrew Suarez will get the start for the Giants. Suarez comes into this game with an ERA of 4.33, and is 6-10 on the season. The 26-year-old has tallied 118 strikeouts and ranks 2nd on the Giants with 139.1 innings pitched. Suarez will match up versus right-hander Mike Foltynewicz, who enters the game with a 2.75 ERA and 179 strikeouts in 157 innings.

Major League Baseball 2018 Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners Live Stream Free 08 August Watch Online

Major League Baseball Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners Live Stream Free, MLB 2018 Regular Seasons. Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners match will be kickoff at Globe Life Park, Arlington, Texas, Australia, Wednesday 08 August 2018 online, 12:05 (GMT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

Bartolo Colon reached out and snagged the comeback liner while slipping into a squat on the mound.

The portly 45-year-old pitcher managed to stay upright, with a smile on his face and a ball from his milestone victory secured firmly in his glove.

Colon became the winningest pitcher born in Latin America, punctuating his 246th career victory with that nifty snag for the last out of his seven innings as the Texas Rangers roughed up Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners 11-4 on Tuesday night.

"I thought [first baseman Jurickson] Profar was going to throw the ball away to the public, to the fans," Colon said through an interpreter. "But I saw it and then I started laughing because it happened that way."

On his sixth try since earning his 245th win on June 30 to match the mark held by Nicaragua's Dennis Martinez, the Rangers hurler from the Dominican Republic finally had the record to himself.

"It was a long journey, but it finally came and it feels good," said Colon, who got his last out against Dee Gordon on his 94th pitch.

Colon (6-10) gave up four runs and eight hits in seven innings. The popular right-hander walked none and struck out one. He retired 14 of the last 16 batters he faced after Seattle had two triples in the third, an inning after back-to-back homers by the Mariners' Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager.

"True to, I think the competitor in him, once we got the lead, you could see just the extra little gear that he put it into to get himself through those innings," manager Jeff Banister said.

"It took a while to get it, but I'm proud of him," said Adrian Beltre, the active career leader with 3,131 hits. "He's a great, awesome teammate."

Beltre, Profar and Rougned Odor all homered off Hernandez (8-10), who allowed a career-high 11 runs -- seven earned -- in six innings. Odor also had a two-run double.

Colon is 246-186 in 560 games since his big league debut with the Cleveland Indians in 1997, was the 2005 American League Cy Young Award winner while with the Angels and has won games for each of the 11 teams he has pitched for in his career. His 244th victory earlier this season pushed him past Hall of Famer Juan Marichal for the most by a Dominican pitcher.

"I always give thanks to God and to my family, all the support that I have from them," Colon said.

When Beltre struck out in the second against his old friend and former teammate, Hernandez laughed while playfully pointing him back toward the dugout. Beltre grounded into a double play in the third, but his 468th career homer was a solo shot to straightaway center in the sixth that made it 11-4.

"I lost my command after the first two innings. Just leaving it in the middle of the plate and making a lot of mistakes," Hernandez said. "That's it. See the results."

Hernandez, whose 168 career wins are the most by a Venezuelan-born pitcher, struck out two and walked four. He was hurt by two errors by third baseman Seager that led to four unearned runs.

The Mariners led 3-0 before Texas had a four-run third. Odor's double made it 3-all, and Elvis Andrus had a tiebreaking RBI single to extend the longest active hitting streak in the majors, and his career best, to 18 games.

Profar's three-run homer made it 8-4 in the fifth right after Seager misplayed Beltre's two-out grounder.

Odor's two-run shot in the sixth was his 14th homer. Center fielder Cameron Maybin then made a running, leaping catch with his glove extended near the top of the wall to take a hit away from Andrus before Beltre put a shot over the wall.

Mariners Maybin was struck on the upper leg while waiting in the on-deck circle in the ninth inning when Chris Herrmann sliced a foul ball. Maybin appeared to be OK, even smiling briefly. Maybin then grounded out.

Yovani Gallardo, 6-1 since rejoining Texas in mid-June for the first time since 2015, starts the series finale against Seattle and lefty Marco Gonzales (12-6). While Gallardo has a 4.76 ERA in his past seven starts, the Rangers have averaged an MLB-best 11.57 runs per nine innings with the right-hander on the mound. No AL pitcher has more than his six wins in that span. Gonzales had won five starts in a row with a 1.57 ERA before losing Friday against Toronto.

The Texas Rangers look for a victory here after winning seven of their last 10 games. The Rangers have scored 13 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last seven games. The Texas Rangers have lost nine of their last 11 games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Shin-Soo Choo leads the Rangers with 113 hits and 53 RBI while Nomar Mazara and Jurickson Profar have combined for 186 hits and 115 RBI. Bartolo Colon gets the ball, and he is 5-10 with a 5.18 ERA and 71 strikeouts this season. Colon is 21-12 with a 3.77 ERA and 167 strikeouts in his career against the Mariners.

The Mariners are 1-5 in their last 6 during game 2 of a series, 1-4 in Hernandezs last 5 road starts and 0-4 in Hernandezs last 4 starts. The Rangers are 2-7 in their last 9 during game 2 of a series, 0-5 in their last 5 Tuesday games and 0-5 in Colons last 5 starts. The Mariners are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Texas, 10-4 in Hernandezs last 14 starts vs. Rangers and 5-2 in Hernandezs last 7 road starts vs. Rangers.

The National League and American League meet Tuesday in the 2018 MLB All-Star Game at Nationals Park.

The National League will be managed by Los Angeles Dodgers Dave Roberts, as this side looks for its first all-star victory since 2012. The National League is a rather inexperienced team in terms of all-star berths, as there’s 17 different players making their first appearance. That could be a key factor for backing the NL, as most guys making their first trip usually treat it as more of a business trip and out to prove they deserve their spot rather than a vacation that got old. The National League lineup is led by Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, Brandon Crawford and Javier Baez. The NL pitching staff has players such as Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom, Kenley Jansen and Zack Greinke. The National League is an overall balanced team led by a lot of fresh faces who should be eager to snap what has been complete dominance from the other side over the years.

The American League will be led by the Houston Astros A.J. Hinch, and he’ll be the guy hoping to lead this league to its 13th win over the NL in the last 16 years. The AL is an experienced roster with everybody in its starting lineup making multiple trips, while the pitching staff has eight guys playing in the exhibition for the first time. There won’t be many nerves with this group, as a good portion of this squad has been there done that in terms of everything that comes with all-star week. The American League has sluggers for days in Aaron Judge, J. D. Martinez, Manny Machado, Mike Trout and Mookie Betts. The AL pitching staff has Craig Kimbrel, Chris Sale, Gerrit Cole, Luis Severino and Edwin Diaz. The American League will consistent of lots of extra base hits and power arms hoping to close the deal late in the game.

It’s tough to argue with the American League here, as it has experience, the overall better and more talented team, and the results over the years speak for themselves. The National League has been owned by the AL over the last decade in a half and has been held to a combined nine runs during the five-game losing streak. The National League has serious issues generating easy offense in these games, and I’m not sure putting in so many fresh faces is going to help matters.

With that said, it’s an all-star game at the end of the day. These players are simply playing to enjoy the event, have fun and not get hurt. It’s nice to win as competitors, but it’s not like guys are killing themselves here like a trip to the World Series is on the line. All-Star games are almost meaningless for the most part, so I usually end up going with the side that will give me plus money. In this case, that’s obviously the National League. Oh, the under may be worth a look as well considering six or less runs have been produced in five of the last eight games.
